Annual Leadership Awards

The Maryland Green Registry Leadership Award application period is now open!

What are the Leadership Awards?

The Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards are presented each year to five member organizations that have shown a strong commitment to sustainable practices, measurable results, and continual improvement. Past winners represent a variety of facility types and sizes, but all have several key factors in common that contribute to their success: an organizationwide commitment to environmental performance, a green team that meets on a regular basis, annual environmental goals and measurement of results.

Prior Leadership Award winners may also apply using the same application to be selected for the 2019 Leadership Circle, a one-year designation recognizing an ongoing commitment to sustainable practices and results.

Why should I apply?

The Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards provide the only statewide recognition for environmental performance across a range of facility types and sizes.  Winners are recognized through a variety of print and social media outlets, notification to elected officials, display of the award winner posters at outreach events and state websites over the upcoming year, and recognition at the annual awards event.

This year's event, marking the 10th anniversary of the program, will be held in partnership with the National Association of Envirionmental Professionals as part of their national conference in
Baltimore, Maryland. Maryland Department of the Environment Secretary Ben Grumbles will present
the awards at a dinner reception on May 20, 2019 at the Lord Baltimore Hotel.  Registration for the event is now open, see here for details regarding discounts for Maryland Green Registry members.

How do I apply?

Applying is easy. Since Maryland Green Registry members have already shared many of their successes and results through their online member profiles, the awards application asks for brief responses to just two questions. Please note that the awards panel also considers the member profile in choosing the Leadership Award winners so please make sure it's up to date!

Not a member of the Registry? No problem. Joining is free and there is plenty of time to complete the member application as well as the award application before the due date. Visit the Join Here page and we will work with you to get you enrolled quickly.

Contact us with any questions about joining the Registry, applying for an award, or the awards event on May 20, 2019.

To apply, complete and submit the form below by 5 p.m. Friday April 26, 2019.
