Introduction

This site is a 5.3 acre (5 acres forested, 0.3 acres scrub-shrub) wetland restored from previously cutover timber/prior converted cropland.  This site is located in the Coastal Area - Chincoteague Bay (02-13-01-06) watershed of Worcester County.      

      


Construction

Construction began in Summer 2004 through a concerted effort between the Maryland Department of the Environment, the landowner, and Worcester Soil Conservation District.              


Post-construction 2004


Status

This site has established into a successful wetland system and provides valuable wetland functions.  This wetland is on private property.
