42. DNR Contract #2

Introduction

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Wetlands of Special State Concern Contract #2 is the second phase in enhancement of Delmarva Bays & other Wetlands of Special State Concern through management of invasive species.  The treated wetlands are located within the following watersheds: Upper Choptank River Area (02-13-04-05), Upper Chester River Area (02-13-05-10), Tuckahoe Creek (02-13-04-05), and additional Chesapeake Forest Lands.                


Construction

As part of this contract, beginning in 2003, the Maryland Department of the Environment and DNR coordinated the treatment of invasive plant species.  This project is ongoing.                 


Status

DNR is monitoring the sites, which are doing well and appear successful.
