Water Appropriation or Use Permit

State regulations require water users to obtain a water appropriation or use permit with some exceptions as described in the fact sheet below. Permit requests are evaluated to determine whether the amount of water requested is reasonable for the stated purpose, and to ensure that withdrawals do not have unreasonable impacts on the water resource or on neighboring users.

The listing of notices of new applications for withdrawals in excess of 10,000 gallons per day are now shown in the in the Water Supply "What's New" page under the "Notice of Recent Applications Received for Water Appropriation Permits" subheading.
