Cross State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR)

On February 1, 2016, MDE provided comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Proposed Cross-State Air Pollution Rule Update (CSAPR II) (80 FR 75706, 12/03/2015), which partially addressed ozone transport fot the 2008 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). MDE applauded EPA's nitrogen oxodes (NOx) emission budget development and EPA's focus on achieving these budgets through the operation of existing controls on fossil fuel-fired electric generating units in 23 states.

MDE provided comments and supporting documentation for consideration by the EPA in any future development of transport regulations. MDE's transmittal letter and appendices are listed below.
